Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves assisting the health, safety and environment team in their tasks such as data analysis, audits, compliance, talking with workers around site to make sure they feel safe, help protect the environment.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do enjoy the programme and learning what the course offers, I just struggle to implement what I have learnt with tasks that are given to me for my job role. Sometimes it can also become quite boring as I am sitting at a desk most of the time with out having a physical side and run out of tasks to do, which then leads to me needing to find things to do, however me and my line manger are going to work on this and make improvements.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt so much, if I was to talk to myself from 8 months ago I would not understand half the topics I do now such as risk assessments, data analysis and management systems like ISO45001. I have also been developing a lot of existing skills like communication, presenting and problem solving.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very organised, I always know what is coming up.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I do receive a lot of support, if I am struggling with an aspect of the learning or my job role I can always rely on my team for assistance. I even receive support from our apprenticeship co-ordinator on site when ever I need it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My tutor is always on hand to help me and they are always pushing me to develop my learning to create solid portfolio pieces that will help me at my end point assessments.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

very well because without the learning that is provided I will not be able to complete my day to day tasks effectively as I will be missing key understanding.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There is a sports group but I don't personally like sport so have not participated, and our apprenticeship lead at our head office creates social events for the apprentices to meet each other and learn from each other but I have not personally taken part as I struggle talking to new people and making that connection.
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend Premier Foods to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would say it is a good place to work if food manufacturing interests you and everyone at my workplace is friendly but it does sometimes get quite challenging as you can either have loads to do or you have nothing to do.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Premier Foods?
I would say if your used to having an office job then it is the right place but coming from somewhere it used to be hands on a lot with the work then it may be a bit of a struggle to get used to it.
