Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a Data & Contracting coordinator, I send out contracts to over 2000 associates each year who carry out work for City & Guilds.
I also run reports everyday to make sure our data is up to date and is to the highest quality. I then analyses this data and present my findings to my team and the wider organisation, this can then help the stakeholders make decisions on wider business decisions, such as, how many more associates do we need to contract for specific roles, etc.
I am also able to work on a number of projects within my team such as data cleansing tasks while migrating our data from one system to another, creating guidance on how to use the new system as well as leading training sessions on how to prepare the data and then how to use the systems.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am very much enjoying the Level 3 apprenticeship, because of how much data I work with on a daily basis, the apprenticeship is allowing me to streamline my ways of working and due to this it is making me more productive. I am able to share my new knowledge with my wider team and it is helping us all to upskill. As I continue through the programme, I am finding new ways to help build my own skills as well as implement changes that is benefiting the whole team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
As part of the programme, I have been able to build a dashboard that pulls all of the pivot tables that I use to report on our daily tasks completed which has helped us to implement changes in our processes to make our team more efficient.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well structured. I have monthly catch ups with my training provider coach, as well as monthly work shops where we go through finer details of the course.
Each week a new module is released and once completed, this goes towards my portfolio which will be used as part of my EPA.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my team and my manager. We have weekly 1:1s where we discuss how the apprenticeship is going and if I am on track.
We have put aside several hours a week so that I can focus on my training and completing the necessary work. If I ever need additional time, my manager is very accommodating.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
As previously mentioned the training provider, Corndel, is very supportive with 1:1 and monthly workshops. If I have any additional queries regarding the evidence I provide, they are very helpful to push me in the right direction.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I am already benefiting from the knowledge I am gaining from the course. I have created dashboards for me and my team to use on a daily bases. Increased knowledge of Excel to enable me to be more time efficient and streamline my ways of working. I am now looking at automation and have begun work on connect MSLists to Power Automate.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
We have an associate manager people committee, where we do social challenges, such as step challenges & photo challenges. I have created a food club newsletter which is for all the foodies in the team where we share recipes and food facts each month.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend City & Guilds to a friend?
Yes
Why?
City & Guilds is a great place to work. You have a lot of opportunities to develop your skills and learn more. In just over 2 years, I have gone from being an administrator to a coordinator position, there are always chances to progress within your own team as well as others.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to City & Guilds?
When applying to City & Guilds, I would say to be yourself and be authentic. Your opinions and views are valued and new ways of looking at problem solving is always welcome. So if you need to answer any situational questions, be honest and say what you would do and not what you think they want to hear.
