Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend City & Guilds to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would highly recommend City & Guilds as an apprenticeship provider because of its genuinely collaborative and supportive working environment. In over 20 years of my professional career, it stands out as the most collaborative organisation I have experienced, where colleagues actively share knowledge and support each other’s development.
What makes it particularly valuable is the opportunity it provides for career progression and retraining. Through my apprenticeship, I have been able to transition from a linguist to a data scientist—something I had been aiming to achieve for a long time. This level of support for career change and professional growth is rare and demonstrates a strong commitment to developing individuals.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to City & Guilds?
For anyone applying to City & Guilds, my advice would be to stay open to learning and be proactive in making the most of the opportunities available. Collaboration is key, so strong communication and teamwork skills will really help. Finally, don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone—the experience can lead to meaningful career growth.
