To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I felt it really resonates with what I do on a day to day basis and I was able to adopt many of the topics on the programme into how I led my team.

I have certainly developed a lot of leadership skills that I have picked up in a non-structured way in my time managing teams and projects, but I have also learnt new skills and tools to enable me to improve my team's performance as well as my own.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme was very well structured with good content and additional learning in every module if I was particularly interested in a topic. I also had regular catch ups with both my PDE and my line manager.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

City & Guilds has enabled me to work around my programme and helped my manage my workload during peak learning periods as well as peak work periods. I have been able to manage the balance between work and course far better than I had anticipated with the support of my team and my line manager.
We also had drop in sessions with out L&D lead to raise questions and queries which also created a good team environment for the people that were on the programme.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Learning materials were very structured and easy to follow. I also had regular 121s with my PDE as well as group learning sessions with the City & Guilds cohort which was very useful, especially when entering into periods of increased activity on the programme.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

As mentioned previously, the learning on this course has been easily transferable into my day to day activities and feel it has helped how I work with my team, my stakeholders and my manager.

Yes
Why?
The programme is genuinely transferable into the workplace and the level of support you get from team managers, the exec and the L&D team really makes you feel supported throughout the programme.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to City & Guilds?
I would definitely say take time to plan 3-4 weeks out to understand how to effectively manage your work and programme priorities and make sure you tap into the wider cohort taking the course on - you'll find that a lot of the pressure you are feeling is not just you and talking through it with people in the same situation really helps.
