Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
On a day-to-day basis, I liaise with engineers and site teams, support coordination of activities, and help keep documentation organised and up to date. This role is helping me build a strong understanding of engineering processes, safety, and project delivery.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
Overall, while I may not see myself continuing in this area long-term, the programme has still been beneficial in helping me understand my strengths and career direction.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I’ve also developed organisational and time management skills through handling documentation and supporting project coordination. In addition, I’ve gained a better understanding of RAMS, drawings, and how engineering works are planned and carried out safely on site.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
However, since having more consistent support and clearer management of my apprenticeship, it has become much more organised and structured. This has made a big difference in helping me progress, stay focused, and complete my work more effectively.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
I am now able to ask for help when needed and receive support with my development and workload, which has made it easier to stay on track and progress through my programme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
There have been times where support could have been more consistent, but generally I have been able to get the help required to complete my work and progress through the course.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
However, much of what I have learned in my role has come from hands-on experience on site, so while the qualification has been useful, the practical side of the apprenticeship has had a greater impact on my day-to-day performance.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
While there are some social and networking opportunities, the main focus within my role has been on gaining the necessary training and certifications to work safely and effectively in restricted or specialised environments.
