Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I work between our Procurement and Sustainability functions; supporting buyers and suppliers to execute our sustainability objectives. This is through creating processes & governance, providing upskilling support, generating resources, communicating with stakeholders at various levels and building networks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
It was great to be able to study alongside my day job, putting my learning into practice and having the support of colleagues to take on projects that I wouldn't normally get to be a part of.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I had no formal sustainability training before this role and my degree apprenticeship, so have learned countless skills and background to important topics that not only support my day job, but have helped me to work laterally and shape my career.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well structured: both my workplace and apprenticeship provider have ensured that modules are organised in a logical way and that I have opportunities to apply my learning at work in a meaningful manner.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Colleagues and management are extremely supportive of my learning and want me to succeed; ensuring I have access to information and data I need and including me in relevant meetings etc...
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Cranfield were very communicative and interactive; helping me with both academic and procedural learning to ensure that I have both sides of the course in good standing.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I now have the confidence to lead on improvement actions, meetings and strategic programmes that support our sustainability strategy.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Although I'm not a part of it, there is the Sprouts network which provides textured support and a social atmosphere for early careers employees in Sustainability roles; organising trips, workshops and social activities.
