Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Shadowing a quantity surveyor working with number and quantities. I have relationships with a wide range of people from the site teams, subcontractors to the people I work closely in the office with. I complete different tasks including measuring, tendering, take offs and different pricing of labour and cost reporting.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme, no week is the same which is the aspect of the job that i really enjoy. I complete site visits but also work in the office with the allowance of 1 day from home. This means every week is different and created new opportunities to learn.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have developed a wide range of skills during the period since the start in September. My ability to communicate effectively has really improved. Within the role communication is key and can have major impacts if not done effectively. I have also developed numeracy skills with the constant use of excel and different spreadsheets that need to be worked on day to day. Overall I have developed a wide rang of skills and this is only increasing as my programme continues.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I feel my programme is very structured. I am allocated a study day for me to complete my assignment work on a thursday. This is given a time period and i always follow a schedule and time table throughout the month. This has been like this from the start. I also experience this in the office on the real apprentice learning side.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I get regular progress catch ups and have the ability to ask questions or speak about problems very frequently. I am very comfortable approaching anyone for advice if i need.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Lots of support, i am always asked and have regular catch up meetings with my employer and learning skills provider. This is a full progress review to ensure that i am on track at all times.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I play padel with my colleagues and attend gym sessions regularly, This also pairs with numerous social networking events that happen quarterly over the year
