Basic Laboratory duties, quality reports, concrete testing, earthworks testing and grout testing
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Very good, my line manager was helpful throughout and the team at tiro were great too

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
When i joined the laboratory i didn’t have a clue about anything to do with concrete and laboratory work. Throughout my apprenticeship I rapidly became proficient in all testing thanks to my senior and mentor.

5/5
Regular check in calls and lessons were planned with a great amount of time to make sure i could attend

5/5
I was always allowed to join lessons regardless of works on site, i was given more than enough time to complete my work
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Lots of support, quick email replies really helped out plus calling me whenever i needed a hand
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
Massively, it helped me understand things more in depth rather than just doing them, and helped me gain a greater understanding on how other labs work too
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
yes, my company regularly put me on different courses. As well as this, in the early careers programme that lasts two years we get two trips to the lake district.
