Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I am a civil engineer on a rotation scheme project, where every 6 months I swap departments to try out the different fields within Civil engineering. Part of it involves me in joining meeting for updates, issues, rescheduling of works and much more. Currently within the Quality Assurance team, and my role is to help out the manager's with their tasks when they need it
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I love it, especially the environment in where I work is fantastic. Friendly and welcoming people, lovely clean office, great working schedule and amazing managers.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Every time I change departments I learn something new to the project which I never knew it was even there. This also helps me out a lot with my studies and vice versa

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very good, you work four times a week and once a week you get the day off to attend your once a week uni lectures. Also for some teams they offer hybrid working hours, such as coming into office three times a week, uni once a week and wfh once a week
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot, we have PDR sessions twice a year where we go over objective I set out during the last PDR (Personal Development Report) and see which ones I have ticked off and what would I like to add as a new objective. Furthermore, we have bi-weekly catch ups, or even sometimes daily catch up, even for 5 minutes to know how I am doing, and if there's anything I need help wise from their side.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Balfour Beatty to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Very good company, takes care of you but also the environment wherever you is just stupendous.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Balfour Beatty?
Be yourself, truthful and honest. If you do not know an answer to something, do say you do not know instead of making something up. Get a lot of work experience done too regarding the course you are looking forward to do, as that greatly helps out with the application process
