Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
A big part of my role is helping teams with essential admin tasks, including:
Collating and securely storing important student documents such as misconduct records, complaints, and conduct files.
Inputting data into internal databases and systems and keeping information accurate and up to date.
Checking reports for accuracy and flagging errors where needed.
Assisting with reviewing and updating GBS policies and procedures.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I genuinely enjoy my programme to a great extent. The combination of hands‑on administrative work and structured learning suits me really well. I like that every day feels different — whether I'm supporting academic teams, communicating with students and staff, or working on data and admin tasks. It keeps me engaged and constantly learning.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Using professional IT systems: I’ve become confident using Microsoft Office tools like Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint in a real work environment.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Overall, I feel that my programme is well organised and structured. The combination of on‑the‑job learning and formal apprenticeship training is balanced in a way that supports my development. I always know what is expected of me, and the tasks I’m given link clearly to the skills I’m working towards in my qualification.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a good level of support from my employer, and it has made a real difference to my confidence and development. Whenever I need help or guidance, my manager and colleagues are approachable and willing to explain things clearly. I feel comfortable asking questions, and I’m given the time I need to learn and understand new tasks.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a good level of support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. They check in with me regularly to make sure I’m on track, and they explain the requirements of each unit clearly so I know exactly what evidence I need to gather. Whenever I’m unsure about something in my coursework or portfolio, they take the time to guide me through it and help me understand what’s expected.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my qualification supports me very well in performing my role. The training I receive helps me understand the reasoning behind the tasks I do every day, and it gives me a stronger foundation in areas like communication, organisation, customer service, and data handling. As I learn new techniques and best practices through my training provider, I’m able to apply them directly to my work, which makes me more confident and efficient.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At my workplace, there aren’t many formal extra‑curricular activities like sports teams or regular social events, but there are still a few opportunities to get involved outside of my day‑to‑day role. From time to time, there are team catch‑ups, staff meetings, and informal gatherings that help build relationships with colleagues. There may also be occasional staff development sessions or networking opportunities depending on the time of year and what’s happening across the organisation.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Global Banking School to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Yes, I would recommend Global Banking School to a friend. My experience so far has been positive — I’ve felt supported in my role, I’ve learnt valuable skills, and I’ve been given opportunities to grow both professionally and personally. The environment is diverse and welcoming, and the work I do feels meaningful, especially as it supports students and contributes to the wider goals of the organisation.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Global Banking School?
If someone is thinking about applying to Global Banking School, my main advice would be to go in with an open mind and a willingness to learn. GBS is a busy and fast‑paced environment, so being organised and ready to adapt will really help you succeed. I’d also recommend showing confidence in your communication skills, because you’ll be working with a wide range of people — staff, students, and sometimes partner organisations.
