Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am currently in the induction stage of my apprenticeship, but so far it has been great. I've already had the opportunity to speak to IT professionals and gain valuable insight into the industry. The resources provided are also incredibly useful, and will guide me through this journey effectively. I am excited to learn more about Python!
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

So far it has been very enjoyable. As someone who has a keen interest in technology, Cyber Security is the role which stands out to me the most. I have began exploring intriguing areas of Cyber in my first week and my experience has been invaluable, which will only increase significantly as I progress further.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have been able to develop my existing skills such as interpersonal and soft skills. Through communicating and networking with my colleagues, I have improved my confidence and communication skills. In terms of developing new skills, I have began building a skillset in Microsoft Purview and Python!
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

I am happy with the structure of my programme. It is a good mix of practical work and off the job learning, which has allowed me to learn in a diverse manner.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

GBS has a plethora of support options available. This includes a team of dedicated IT professionals supporting on my journey and physical and virtual resources to name a few, which have been incredibly useful so far. My line manager is very knowledgeable in the world of IT and has been a pleasure to report to.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider has provided a platform called Bud, for me to complete training and upskill. The Lead Apprenticeship Development Coach has been very helpful, and will support me on my journey.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I find that working towards a Cyber Security Technologist qualification helps me to perform better in my role due to the fact that it equips me with many skills outside my usual work routine. An apprenticeship is useful because of the practical and studying portion, and MetaGedu is providing a platform to not only learn more about Cyber but also has dedicated professionals to support me.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

GBS holds regular workshops which are a great way to learn about a particular topic whilst also meeting new people and networking. As an apprentice, regular meetings are held where we are able to meet one another and share experiences.

I would recommend Global Banking School to a friend because it is a great place to work. The staff is kind and welcoming, which contributes to a positive work environment. There is an opportunity for growth here and many knowledgeable staff members to support you on your journey.

I would say to be yourself and to ask plenty of questions, to learn as much as possible!
