Every day is different - it could be supporting with delivering training to officers and police staff, designing new D&I-related content for our internal site, advising on Equality Impact Assessments or Reasonable Adjustment queries, writing policies, planning events, or working with our Staff Networks.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Having the opportunity to do the apprenticeship alongside my day-to-day job has really helped me grow in my knowledge, skills and confidence. I frequently find myself applying new learning from my apprenticeship into my day job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I am developing a more strategic and high-level understanding of people management - things like how to bring about cultural change, influence stakeholders, consider budgets, etc.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

There is a clear structure with monthly teaching sessions and one-to-ones with my tutor. I also know what is expected of me in between sessions.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

West Midlands Police have been really supportive, both in putting me forward for the apprenticeship and making sure I have the time to invest in new learning and projects for my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider is excellent - they are always at the end of the phone/email if I have any questions or concerns.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Really well - I often find myself applying my learning and the skills that I have developed in the apprenticeship to my role.
