As an Apprentice Electrical Design Engineer at Balfour Beatty, I support the design and development of electrical infrastructure within substation projects across the transmission and distribution network. My role combines technical design work, engineering principles, and practical project exposure to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant substation installations.

To some extent it is well organised in the sense of how much support i receive as an apprentice and the jobs that i am assigned are suitable for my skill level however i do not know what happens in my third year of my apprenticeship as my college course only lasts 2 years also i do not know what will happen once my 3 year apprenticeship is finished
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive support in a lot of aspects most importantly adequate time to study for upcoming exams etc.

My training providers at New College Lanarkshire are extremely helpful and are always willing to help everyone get over the line.
