Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Most days I have to ask for work rather than it being handed to me, this can be really short tasks rather than working towards the apprenticeship itself - I feel as if I'm not actually working towards my apprenticeship and find it difficult to actually engage. When I'm given work it's small tasks that aren't relevant and are given just to fill time. I spend most of my time on oracle fusion, doing the online learning rather than up front customer service
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I'm not enjoying it in all honesty, it's gotten to the point where I am looking for other jobs that are going to build on my skills and development

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gained more confidence in the sense of communication and confidence when facing the public, I've learnt about new programmes and databases, developed on previous knowledge such as safeguarding and equality through Oracle Fusion.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I would say that the organisation of the apprentice isn't that great due to not having that much of a workload, I feel as if I'm just a number and that I'm there for just being there
How much support do you receive from your employer?

As much as I lack work I have brought it up many times with several contact points, I feel as if I can speak openly without being judged both in work related issues and personal issues
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I know that I can go to my mentor for anything, again that being personal or work based issues
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel as if at this moment that I'm not doing a great load of work towards my qualification and be proud to say that I've earnt it
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Would you recommend Sandwell Council to a friend?
No
Why?
I have had many issues throughout the apprentice process from delayed DBS to start dates being delayed to not enough workload, as much as they're lovely people I'm not satisfied with the service they're giving me
