Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Good team of people on an interesting project, day to day management of subcontractors ensuring work is completed on site, in line with quality assurance and programme. Reviewing contract, raising CEs, managing change up and downstream, assessing and submitting applications up and downstream also
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
Good programme, wish it was more local and could attend in person however, as this is offered to those locally. That is the only downside really which I suppose cannot be helped

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt lots of skills from communication and relationship management, as well as self management and accountability, team working and dealing with people on a daily basis

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Well structured, cannot fault it. On the basis it is online everything. runs smoothly and according to plan
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots of support they are completely understanding and help me to create a work life balance and offer support and guidance whenever needed
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Lots, they help with allowing me to access additional resources and speak with experts within the business and help with travel and costs whilst away at Uni or training
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It helps to add theoretical learning to practical site experience and this allows me to apply my uni knowledge alongside work, and gives me real life case studies to use for Uni work so connects the two nicely
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are weekly team socials on an evening, commercial events 2/3 times a year for a day at a time and on my past project there was a Balfour Beatty football team

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Balfour Beatty to a friend?
Yes
Why?
All around just a great company, well looked after and made to feel supported, lots of projects all fairly local, great teams and support throughout
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Balfour Beatty?
Just apply and be open and honest, do your research on Balfour Beatty and the role you are applying for and don’t be afraid to sell yourself too!
