Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a quantity surveyor there is a lot of variety on my day-to-day work. Some of the tasks that I may typically complete include estimating for tenders, communication with Main & Subcontractors and live project support.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I am very happy with my experience as an apprentice. I am continuing to develop, always learning new things and being helped along my journey to ever improve.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learned many new skills, both in work and life. I am now more familiar with different applications, software and general quantity surveying ideas as well as systems and processes. Furthermore, working in an office surrounded by my colleagues I have become more confident and outgoing, learning strong lessons along the way.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
My programme is well structured both at work and at university, especially with finding the balance and time to manage both aspects. In addition, it is also well organised to still allow me to find time for my personal life.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive lots of support from my employer. Whenever I have any questions or issues, they are the first to help and support, not only me, but other colleagues to ensure that we understand what we are learning and improve wherever possible.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
When working towards my qualifications, I receive plenty of time and support which allows me to develop and progress. Weekly / Monthly catch-up sessions at work also provide great support in ensuring that all targets are met.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I feel that my qualification helps a lot in me performing better in my role, because much of what is being taught is relevant to day-to-day practice.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
At work we often have weekly sport sessions e.g. Badminton or football after work. This is a good team-building / bonding exercise that everyone involved enjoys participating in. Furthermore, we often have team building events every couple of months which provides a good separation from work to spend time with everyone at the company.
