Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
I go to university 2 days a week and the office 3 days a week most of the time, with some weeks and summer 5 days a week in the office. At university i learn about designing, sustainability, and key considerations as an architect. In the office I work on live projects in a small team, and get the chance to apply things I have learnt.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The apprenticeship scheme is a very good way to learn, getting the chance to do so in principle, and in real life.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt new skills as well as developing skills I already have, and can then apply them to real projects in the office when I am not at university.

5/5
The programme is very well structured, giving a timetable at the beginning of the year than employers can them plan around for resourcing.

5/5
I receive lots of support from Kier Group, such as learning on the job, support regarding university work, and they often hold feedback sessions to keep track of my progress.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Nottingham Trent gives lots of support to ensure we are happy with what we are learning, and that the workload is manageable along side working.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
The qualification supports me in my role to learn best practice, design principles, and future considerations when designing. It also teaches me about the wider teams that I will work with when delivering a project.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
