Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I have worked on an internal logistics project for the company where I have helped in communications and people management. My main focus has been a client based external cost intelligence project though where I have worked in the Change Management team. I have engaged with digital material and had to work in employee engagement also.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes - I would say I have been given the same responsibility as a grad student/junior consultant. My work has felt valuable and useful, and by no means 'filler' or 'grunt' work. I have been set multiple independent tasks with deadlines to adhere to. I would say I am definitely satisfied with the amount of responsibility taken on.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Yes - developed broader understanding of and gain consultancy specific skills. My PowerPoint and Excel skills have also improved. I work in a team every day so my communication and interpersonal skills have improved. My design and creativity has also increased.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

A lot. Definitely an obvious emphasis on community and people focus. Weekly meetings with my line manager. Also had a buddy and regular meetings with other interns as well as endless invitations to social events and training days where everyone was approachable and easy to speak to.
