Student Engineer Review

I am part of an asset management team, responsible for undertaking site visits and writing General and Principal Inspection reports for several structures across London. I am also part of the HS2 team, as an Assistant Engineering Manager, mainly reviewing documents. Last but not least, in close collaboration with other interns, we are executing three other projects. On a day-to-day basis, I have meetings with my co-workers and other interns whilst working on tasks assigned by my buddy and line manager.

I was given much responsibility during my internship. Nevertheless, my buddy and line manager were always very supportive and understanding when needing help.

I have definitely enhanced a sense of communication and team work. I have also developed further my critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Finally, time-management is an important skill I have developed during my time at Arcadis, since being part of several projects at a time requires strong organizational skills.

The amount of support and guidance I received during my internship was definitely satisfactory. My buddy, line manager, and other members of the teams I was part of, where always there to help and guide me as a young engineer.

There is an overall sense of communication and teamwork across the teams. An important element that made the difference is discipline and integrity.

I have genuinely enjoyed my internship. I had the opportunity to network, develop further the skills that I have acquired over the years, and grow as a young engineer.
