Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Airbus?
since it is a very large company, it is severely dependent on what department, where and who you work with. since it is so large, there is definitely opportunities to move around to find your place. however, if you have a bad manager or working conditions, it is almost impossible to do anything about it. it's greatly variable, however if you're neurodivergent they do offer a lot of support such as working from home (depending on what your job is) and noise cancelling headphones as such.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
managing suppliers
excel sheet with all pricing and comparing
writing letters, emails and contracts
negotiating
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
3/5
depends on your manager.
To contribute meaningfully is simply doing your role but thats it, to feel valued depends on how much your manager lets you expand and practice and take on things you feel passionate about and provide value.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
4/5
really great. offer a bike to work scheme, car scheme, can choose your benefits yearly. only bad thing is that you can't choose how to be paid in overtime - the more hours you work you can earn an optional day off (valid only for a month and only if you keep the additional hours) OR get paid for the additional hours worked - they only let you earn time off not get paid for it.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
4/5
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
4/5

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
3/5
very dependent on who your manager is and your hr person.
If you have a bad manager, might as well give up.
If you have a great manager, you will be greatly supported and have a great career.
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
Positive only due to my diagnosis letting me work from home more.
However, the ability to earn an additional 2 days off a month is a good option but it may mean overworking yourself just to earn them.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
2/5
Senior management is bad and do not communicate or even understand what the work done is. Values are highly hypocritical.
"Speak up culture", except once you speak up you're told to shut up and made to feel even more isolated than beforehand.
They provide the ability to do hybrid working but you're critiqued for actually doing hybrid working.
It is the downside of having an older male environment - they have the traditional "oh I come in everyday so you should too" regardless of the policies existing.
A lot of office politics.
However, if in a good team, it can be very inclusive and positive.
How would you rate Airbus initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
3/5
A lot of great initiatives except they're not done that well. It's more "all talk, no bite" kind of vibe.
It's all about diversity until a neurodivergent person is in the team and need support.
It's all about equality until there's sexist harassment from a coworker or manager.
It's all about accessibility until there's barriers put up and entrances blocked for the sake of authority and ego and control.
As a company, great initiatives, but the people in control and running them are the problem and the people who it is aimed at are difficult to change.
How would you rate Airbus CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
5/5

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Airbus to a friend?
Yes
Why?
great place and definitely go for it if the opportunity is there but it is heavily dependent on the people which you won't know until you're there.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
3/5
i had no expectations
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Airbus?
do not apply to multiple positions - it will make you look desperate to join airbus rather than passionate about the role itself and i've seen people get turned away for it.
also, only talk briefly about airbus, hiring managers have heard a whole monologue about airbus 1000s of times, only talk about the job role and how your passion in doing well in your job aligns with airbus initiatives/goals.
