Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Premier Foods?
I have really enjoyed working at Premier Foods. I enjoy the culture, the people and the support from my managers when doing my work. It is intimidating transitioning from uni to work life and the company really supported me to do my best and push myself.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Due to the rotational element of the grad scheme, I was able to try out multiple different areas of the business from Commercial Planning and Execution where I was responsible for supporting the brand team on new innovation while talking to the sales team about the opportunities this would bring them for their buyer. Another key rotation was in Category Management, where I built a strong relationship with external buyers for my accounts, discussing category performance and recommending a range that would increase sales for both the Category and Premier Foods. My in person meetings with B&M to discuss shopper experience, store layout and missing POS was one of my highlights.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
Despite not being as experienced as my colleagues, the team always made me feel comfortable to speak up and express my opinion. It was often met with a positive response, encouraging me to do it again. Really great to build up my confidence and trust with myself.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
Compensation packages are very fair. I love how we can buy more A/L at the start of each year and the flexible working style is really convenient.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
With the support from my managers, the role has pushed me outside of my comfort zone, which has enabled me to recognise my potential and capabilities. Due to this, I feel more prepared and confident about my future career. Also, with it being rotational grad scheme, I have more understanding as to where I see my future career going, which is so so helpful.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
As it was rotational, I was also developing new skills in new areas, which I really enjoyed. The training was thorough and managers were clear.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
When you first join the grad scheme, you are allocated a mentor from a senior colleague as well as a buddy from the grad cohort above. As well as my managers and grad cohort, I felt I had many people to go for support.
How is your work-life balance?
5/5
Work-life balance was good.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
Everyone is so warm, approachable and friendly, which made it easy to feel comfortable. I also really like the fact they have grad cohorts every year so there are people a similar age to you too.
How would you rate Premier Foods initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
They ran a whole company session called #OkToBeYou, which was a really impactful and positive experience.
How would you rate Premier Foods CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
5/5
CSR is one of my passions and Premier Foods has allowed me to get involved despite it not being my role. They have involved me in the work they are doing and they signed me onto a Sustainability Course, which I really enjoyed. Everyone also volunteers every year, which I really enjoy as you can help the community as well as connect with your team less formally.

5/5

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Premier Foods?
