Overall, how would you describe your experience at Balfour Beatty?
The job has been enjoyable, there are strong progression opportunities and the people are fantastic
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
procuring materials and subcontracts. Raising purchase orders and meeting suppliers. I enjoy the interraction with my colleagues most and the good work-life balance
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I feel very valued by my team and due to working in construction there are tangible results to see

Other companies in construction offer more money for procurement graduate roles, I am scraping by on my salary. There are no free additional benefits such as health insurance, everything is salary sacrifice.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

This is thanks to my fantastic manager, the grad scheme itself is not very structured in my department and has minimal contact time.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

The role has given me the opportunity to be involved in a nationally significant project and meet so many people. This is something that a smaller company could never match.

My line manager is very supportive and the procurement team are incredibly friendly and helpful.

Working hours are fair and travel time to site is allowed during work hours

Atmosphere in the team is very strong, as a business unit this is not as strong. Each department is quite disconnected.

make sure to keep emailing the recruiters post-offer. and read your contract! Mine had multiple errors
