Overall, how would you describe your experience at Balfour Beatty?
Amazing people and culture- everyone is willing to lend a hand- I get support in working towards chartership - I mainly work with other partner companies in the @one Alliance framework so most of my colleagues were not from BB. But when I do go for graduate days- it was refreshing to be with like-minded people.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
- civil design on concrete tanks/ slabs/ structures in the water recycling framework
- help with layout drawings and working with CAD technicians on 3D modelling
- feasibility study and ground investigation analysis/ desk study

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

As I got myself integrated into the team, I felt more competent and more ready to be involved in discussions- and contributed in the design aspect of the growth of a water recycling plant- working with people of different backgrounds and disciplines in construction, delivery, enabling and planning etc.

As my work mainly sits with the water industry, I have been very active in my role and hence this can translate well with other water companies.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

Throughout my grad programme, I am filled with formal trainings that train my soft skills which is very much transferrable to my work and got me to feel confident in my day to day job.

As advertised - only issue was I did not know the graduate programme lasted 4 years instead of 2 which means more support throughout my work right now

I just be my authentic self- but I was very engaged and had the right energy/ enthusiasm which can be sensed by the recruitment team
