Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Premier Foods?
Premier Foods have been really welcoming and offered lots of training opportunities already. They have been open about expectations and how our roles will fit into the business after the graduate scheme ends, emphasising that the role is permanent. I have 3 rotations while on my grad scheme which is great to offer a view of potential future career choices.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My first rotation is in field sales. This has not only given me a great overview of our brands and products, but also a great introduction into sales and how to conduct myself. While it's quite an independent role, Premier Foods employees have been quick to offer their help and support. The data is key in our role and it's great to be able to see where I am performing well and can improve.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
The field sales team are really welcoming and listen to any suggestions we may have. We also share what we get up to in the field with the head office, so it's great to see some of that content being escalated to solve any issues that may arise.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
We have access to a great additional benefits package, the pay is good for a graduate scheme and they've communicated how our salary and career can progress.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
They have offered lots of training opportunities and every one is very open to having conversations with you to help advance your career.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
My day-to-day role helps me develop confidence and the basic skills for selling. It offers lots of opportunities to learn from your previous experiences and improve on them

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
My line manager and grad buddy have been very supportive and offered me lots of time to show me career paths within the business.
How is your work-life balance?
5/5
The hybrid working gives me the time to run in the morning or see friends in the evening. Although my commute is quite long, travelling through the city makes it easier to do things after work
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
Everyone is very welcoming and its a very inclusive workplace
How would you rate Premier Foods initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
There are lots of groups available but it has been made clear that they are for everyone and not just those who directly relate to the groups. It is great to know they are there to offer advice from an educational perspective too.
How would you rate Premier Foods CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
5/5
Premier Foods CSR initiatives are always clear and at the forefront of what they do. It is clear that they are something they really value.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Premier Foods to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Yes, it's a great place to work and has many heritage brands which offers a wide variety of learning opportunities. I know the role and company will challenge me, but it will be for long term gain
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
5/5
The job application and assessment day were very clear about what the job entails
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to Premier Foods?
Look at all the roles on the grad scheme to see which you would be best suited to, but there are opportunities to move around within the company after the scheme, so you will learn from which ever scheme you are on!
