Graduate Operations Engineer Review

Fantastic, brilliantly thought out grad scheme where you have real responsibility but the right support. It is evident that there is plenty of resource poured into this scheme and it makes me feel a valued member of the company. I have been supported completely in the transition from studying to working in industry.

Process engineering - had a lean six sigma style project to improve the quality and consistency of one of our products. Involved following the DMAIC process, updating key stakeholders and running trials.
Project engineering - Supporting project managers
Project management - following the capital expenditure process, carrying a project through its life cycle, building business cases for projects, engaging with stakeholders, delivering change to the business.
I have really enjoyed being in projects, the role is incredibly varied and I feel the greatest responsibility in this role.

Think it is above average for a graduate scheme in the FMCG sector

Exposed to many different types of engineering, picking up tonnes of knowledge and I have real responsibility

There is a buddy (previous grad), a mentor (senior business leader) that are both thought out for each graduate specifically.
Before starting there is clear structure on what the business wants from yourself, this helps ensure you are constantly growing

Let's be honest, if you are early twenties and talking about work-life balance, you are doing it wrong.
If I want to I definitely could focus on that but I am putting all my energy into learning as much as I can right now, and I am supported in that.

Of course it is to be expected that factory culture has it's challenges but I see great strides taking place in the culture here.

There are employee resource groups for lgbt, gender and multicultural and these all get adequate funding and time - people are freed up from production lines to take part in this.
