Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Premier Foods?
Supportive, informative and freeing. They have given me a lot of responsibility early on and give me freedom of movement to work between manufacturing site, paying for hotels and mileage. They have an extensive support network reaching all levels of the company and everyone is happy to help wherever I ask.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I supply all the ingredients and packaging for one of the manufacturing sites and cover the inbounding for the materials. I also cover some of the system support where it is needed, and my line manager gives me projects for new tools we can use in the department to make our lives easier.
These projects are probably my favourite part of the job so far as they give me the freedom to learn how the wider business works as well as innovate ways to improve.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
Since I am filling in for some temporarily vacant positions due to illnesses, the role is very important to the operation of the factory. I am communicating with lots of people throughout and externally to the business daily, making sure everything kept to schedule and fixing problems with necessary parties when they arise.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
The starting salary is higher than most grad roles I looked for, and it increases significantly after each year we are on the scheme. As well as this we get business travel and expenses all paid for, with travelling expected to be done during business hours. I feel well compensated especially since I have only just started.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
The freedom I am given to explore every section of the department, as well as the investment into my further education the company gives me a strong sense of security for my future, as well as any path my career may take.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
Experience is the best teacher, I am getting as much of that as I can carry and more. We also have training given to us as a cohort in many different ways for soft skills along side our day to day booked in throughout the next few years.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
5/5
We have allocated HR reps, line managers, senior mentors and graduate buddy's as standard support. We are also encouraged to ask wherever else we can find it, the company culture is bright and dedicated people are always happy to lend a hand.
How is your work-life balance?
5/5
Premier foods are very flexible in terms of working hours. As a graduate I want to make the most of my time so I take more time here when I can but I always have the option to leave when I want. The flexible working hours allow me to fit in my home life very easily, and all types of wellbeing are encouraged and supported by the company.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
The culture is very light hearted, I get the feeling people enjoy coming to work here, happy to put the work in.
The values are aim higher, championing fresh ideas, agility, united, and respecting and encouraging one another. They are directed very much towards growth and cooperation, which fuels the positive vibe throughout the company.
How would you rate Premier Foods initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
4/5
The company has a department dedicated to inclusion and awareness for all peoples. I can't claim to know a huge amount about it beyond the introduction I was given, but it is very active and effective showing the benefits of improvement year on year.
How would you rate Premier Foods CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
4/5
There are many opportunities to engage in at all sites for premier foods, accessible through email shoutouts, dedicated company websites and partnerships accessible to all employees.
