To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
My role gives me a strong opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued within the team. I’m trusted with real responsibility — from managing reliability projects and coordinating maintenance planning to leading cross-functional teams on improvement initiatives. My input is actively sought during operations and project meetings, and I can see the direct impact of my work on production performance and reliability. The team is supportive and collaborative, which makes it easy to share ideas and take ownership of tasks. Overall, I feel that my contributions are recognised, and my development is encouraged through feedback, mentorship, and involvement in key business projects.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
5/5
Overall, I feel the compensation package is fair and competitive for the level of responsibility and development offered. The salary increase to £35,000 as I started my second placement reflects both my progression within the graduate programme and the additional responsibilities I’ve taken on. The wider benefits — including the pension scheme, bonus potential, and relocation support — also add strong value. Alongside financial remuneration, the structured development opportunities, mentorship, and exposure to high-impact projects make the overall package rewarding. As I continue to grow and contribute to key business outcomes, I’m confident future reviews will continue to recognise that progress.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
The role is preparing me very well for my future career. It has given me a broad foundation across both reliability and project engineering, combining hands-on technical experience with exposure to business strategy, investment processes, and cross-functional collaboration. I’ve developed key skills in project management, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication, all of which are essential for progressing into more senior engineering or leadership roles. Working across multiple sites and departments has also helped me build a strong understanding of different manufacturing environments and company operations. Overall, the experience has provided both the technical and professional grounding I need to continue building a successful engineering career.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
I would rate the extent of my skill development as very strong. The combination of formal training and hands-on experience has allowed me to build both technical and professional capabilities. The structured learning at St Albans — including financial awareness, public speaking, and presentation training — has strengthened my business and communication skills, while my day-to-day role has deepened my technical knowledge in reliability, maintenance planning, and project management. Leading cross-functional teams and managing real improvement projects has also enhanced my leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Overall, I feel I’m continuously developing a well-rounded skill set that supports both my current performance and future career growth.
