Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Balfour Beatty?
onboarding was very smooth, staff are very friendly and helpful. regular training module keeps you developing as well as helping out one some of the uks biggest projects. travel around meeting different people/ networking events site visits
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I had an exciting experience designing and drawing electrical circuits on CAD, which were then brought to life during the project’s construction. I enjoyed learning about and applying P&C systems, heading out for site surveys, and being actively involved in FATs. Engaging with clients and explaining our design solutions to them was especially rewarding.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I have recently been appointed as our team's neurodiversity ambassador. In this role, I am responsible for supporting new team members with neurodiverse conditions as they settle in, and for educating our team on how to be effective allies. My aim is to help create a more inclusive environment by raising awareness and providing guidance on best practices for supporting neurodiversity within our group.

after my grad scheme am actively in volved in my own project give me most of the skills i need to get stuck in to my normal role
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

at lest once a month or less there was some formal training or soft skills module we would need to complete as apart of of the programme. ive end up using most of what i have learned in the modules so for in my day to day. so i would say well worth the time

there was always some one available to help weather that was a Buddy how been through to programme fairly recently or a line manager/ team lead for more technical problems on the work at hand never felt stuck
How is your work-life balance?

we have quite a flexible work with 60:40 work from home policy witch makes work more relaxing
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

all super friendly happy to have a chat to you about anything. we offten have events out side of work witch you can freely attend if you fell like it

we have whole team dectated to volunteering/community and are constantly looking for new volunteers to help with the sensuality
