Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Balfour Beatty?
My experience at Balfour Beatty has been great so far. I have developed exponentially in the last year as I reach the half way point of my Graduate Scheme and I still continue to be supported by a well structured graduate programme. There are plenty of opportunities/roles that I can branch out into as I progress with my career - the future looks bright
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My main responsibility as a Site Engineer involves setting out the various elements of the building that we are in the process of constructing. I work with various subcontractors on a daily basis and use a total station/various other techniques to mark out what is to be built on site. Equally, I am involved with the planning and commerical processes and liaise with Architects/designers to solve any problems that may arise.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
4/5
The package I receive, such as company car etc are very competitive for my current level, at the start of my career.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
As a part of the graduate scheme, I am placed on a variety of courses and even a residential team building trip to the Lake District. If there are any courses that I see beneficial, I can request to attend these and so far, I have been on every one I have asked for
