Trainee Cost Consultant Review

Daily i would monitor the aconex platform and update trackers to enable the project manager to easily manage all the information and provide responces where nessecary. Monthly i attended a site progress meeting and prepared the valuation, payment certificate and cost report. I also collected timesheets monthly from individuals on the project to enable us to submit our application for payment.

I was given a medium level of responsibility that i believed i handled appropriately i always felt that if i did not understand my task and what was expected of me i could always ask for help and every person within the business would happily assist and help me to understand.

I have learnt a variety of new skills such as how to prepare valuations and cost reports. My time management and communication skills have improved through my time at Arcadis through meeting deadlines and working with a variety of professionals with all different skill sets and learning from them daily.

The support and guidance i received was excellent, there was no such thing as a silly question and i always knew if i had a question someone within the business would answer it for me.

The general atmosphere within the office was friendly and professional. Everyone treated each other with respect. The social events were a great way to get to know everyone outside the office environment and were enjoyable.

I enjoyed working at Arcadis, i felt like i was given the opportunity to learn a variety of new skills and worked alongside not only other cost consultants but also with planners and project managers. My colleagues were very helpful and friendly people and i will be sad to leave the team. The job exceeded my expectations and i have learned so much throughout the year i would be happy to return to Arcadis in the future.
