Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was working with other project managers to deliver projects. my day to day responsibilities were liaising with contractors to complete tasks that were critical to the projects.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given some responsibilities during my placement, i was given tasks to oversee and ensure that they were completed and these were my responsibility to ensure that these tasks were done correctly.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills such as the use of online software and being able to read construction plans. I have also developed my existing skills, my communication skills for example were greatly improved during my placement.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received a good amount of support from Arcadis during my placement. If i ever didnt understand anything there was always someone to explain things to me. It was explained to me that there was no silly questions, which was greatly appreciated.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The general atmosphere was great, despite the fact that i was mainly working from home, i was made to feel like part of a team, and when i did travel into the office there were out of hours activities with my team that i was invited to take part in.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my placement with Arcadis, this was mainly due to the people working there, they really helped my development and always made me feel included.
