Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role is really enjoyable i have learnt a lot while working on my placement year. on a day to day ill attend meetings, go on site, do measurement tasks, work to deliver cost plans. interacting with clients and team members. i was responsible for measuring the project and laying it out in a cost plan for ready to assist on the pricing. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes i was given a good amount of responsibility. i have attended valuations on my own and was given responsibility to feedback the value of work to my superiors. i have taken on my own parts of projects and measured and priced these up.

Yes i have learnt many skills while on my placement. i have had many training sessions at the start to use the software. and learnt how to use the industry software. i have learnt alot about myself and i have improved my communication skills.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I had a line manager how gave me feedback and tips on how to improve. i got to work with a variety of people which helped me to learn a lot. i could approach team members easily and ask on things i was unsure about.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

it was a great atmosphere. my team was really sociable and have always looked after me on social events. i played in the company football team at qpr stadium. i went on charity days. and i went on many other socials.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

i enjoyed it massively. i got to meet lots of people in my team and work with them learning lots from a variety of people. the culture of the team and company was very inclusive i learnt the aspect of work hard and then enjoy yourself afterwards.
its exceed my expectations and im looking forward to going back after university
