Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at Balfour Beatty?
My experience at Balfour Beatty has been very positive, I've had help negotiating paternity leave shortly after I joined and I felt supported all the way through and after. I've gained many opportunity's to improve my understanding of the business and improve my continued personal development. it seems to me like all the doors are open for you to walk though if your willing to.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I am responsible for electrical design and I love that I am able to explore ideas I had previously learned at university for some designs and I have been thriving at filling the gaps that university didn't cover through on the job learning with support from colleagues and managers.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
5/5
I did not expect the amount of support, opportunity and development that was available from the moment I walked though the door. Being on the early careers program it seems limitless the amount of development opportunities that are available and with each opportunity giving me more confidence to contribute to meaningful events and projects.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
4/5
The compensation package within Balfour Beatty is quite extensive and you could very easily spend a full night looking and comparing what's good for you, but I would say that some benefits are free to you when you finish the early careers that may not be when on the early careers program.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
as previously explained the opportunities are seemingly endless with in the company so no matter what your development plan is for the future I'm sure Balfour Beatty will help you on your journey.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
5/5
my day to day role within Balfour Beatty is challenging enough to keep me occupied while developing skills learned during university and I also have had plenty of opportunities to learn on the job on aspects i had not previously learned all with support from the start.

Experience & Company Culture

5/5
With a hybrid work week, support from the start on all matters health and well being I find the work life balance very manageable.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
At Balfour Beatty it had been extremely inclusive, I have dyslexia and there has been a lot of help with this. the environment in the work place is very inviting and it make me look forward to the days I'm in the office, when working from home there is still plenty of contact from colleagues and management that makes working from home that bit better.
