Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As a Development Apprentice at Clarion Housing Group, my role involves supporting the development team with a range of administrative and coordination tasks to help ensure projects run smoothly. On a day-to-day basis, I attend team meetings to stay updated and contribute where needed, create presentations to support project communication, send and manage professional emails, and assist with procurement by adding new suppliers to our system.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Very much as it is helping me build key skills in organisation, communication, and project support within the housing sector. While also studying for my degree.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes, during my time as a Development Apprentice at Clarion Housing Group, I have developed several existing skills and learned new ones. I've improved my communication skills through regular email correspondence and team meetings, and have become more confident in presenting information clearly through creating professional presentations. I've also developed my organisational and time management skills by handling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Additionally, I’ve gained new knowledge of procurement processes and systems, including how to add and manage supplier information.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The structure of my apprenticeship programme is well organised and provides a good balance between practical work experience and study. I work in the office from Monday to Thursday, which allows me to be fully involved with the team, attend meetings, and support ongoing projects. Fridays are dedicated to my study day, giving me focused time to complete coursework and develop my theoretical knowledge. This clear structure helps me stay on track with both my professional responsibilities and learning goals.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a good level of support from my employer throughout my apprenticeship. We have regular catch-ups to discuss my progress, workload, and any areas where I might need guidance. My team is approachable and always open to helping when I have questions or need support, which has made it easier for me to develop my skills and grow in confidence within my role.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive strong support from my training provider while working towards my qualifications. We have regular calls and consistent email communication to check on my progress and ensure I’m staying on track with my assignments and learning goals. They are always available to offer guidance, answer any questions, and provide feedback, which helps me stay focused and feel supported throughout my studies.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
At the moment, it’s a bit too early to tell how much my qualification will directly impact my role, as I’m only in my second week of learning. However, I’m optimistic that the knowledge and skills I’m gaining through my studies will help me perform better as I progress. Once I’ve had more time to apply what I’m learning, I expect the qualification to enhance my ability to contribute effectively to the team and handle the tasks in my role with more confidence and expertise.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
At the moment, I’m not aware of many extra-curricular activities available at work, as there may be opportunities like social events or professional networking that I haven’t yet come across. As I continue in my role and get more involved with the wider organisation, I hope to find more chances to engage in activities outside of my day-to-day responsibilities.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Clarion Housing Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Yes, I would recommend Clarion Housing Group to a friend. It’s a supportive and professional environment where I’ve had the opportunity to learn and develop new skills. The team is approachable, there’s a good balance between work and study, and the apprenticeship is well-structured, making it a great place to start a career in the housing or development sector.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Clarion Housing Group?
My advice to others applying to Clarion Housing Group is to be enthusiastic, open to learning, and show a genuine interest in the housing sector. They understand that, as a young applicant, you may not have a lot of experience, so focus on highlighting your willingness to learn, your work ethic, and your communication skills. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or seek support – the team is approachable and supportive, and they value a positive attitude just as much as experience.
