Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role as management intern was very diverse and each hour of the day was different. The main bulk of my day consisted of checking in customers, going over the car rental process and getting customers into their cars as well as inspecting vehciles upon return. During this a large focus was put on customer service, ensuring the experience was as seamless as possible for anyone who entered the branch, this often included resolution handling if something didnt go to plan.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes! From day one I felt as through I was given just as much resposiblity as I could handle. During the training process there was a real focus on becomng independent in the tasks I was doing but there was always the opportunity to ask questions. I was always told any mistake was fixable which gave me a large amont of confidence when taking on extra resposiblity. By the end of internship I was given the same amount of responsiblity as anyone else on the team.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Definitely! The largest skill I built on during my internship was resolution handling. I also learnt the basics of sales as there is a large empisis on this. During my inernship my confidence soared partly due to the suppot I was getting from the team and partly due to the level of resposiblity I was given.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

A large amout, my branch manager was checking in almost every morning asking if there was any specific questions we had and if there was anything we would want to learn that day. Everyone was super understanding.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture is a very hard working one, everyone was super understanding if there was something going on however there was an expection give it your all when in work. This was rewarded often so defenitly didnt go unnoticed.
