Overall, how would you describe your experience at DHL?
Largely positive. There are some fantastic opportunities within the scheme to attend a variety of events although the onboarding process was not as smooth as it could be; my site seemed somewhat surprised when I started on my first day and were not prepared for me.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I loved the people management side of things.

Very good, although some work I had to complete at home but this was an exception.

The organisation is great and fairly positive; sometimes there is negativity within the workforce.

I would say there is a strong DEI initiative at DHL although this isn't always communicated to all levels.

Why?
As a graduate, the opportunities for development are fantastic and my placement(s) have been very accommodating when I need to have a day for apprenticeship work, a site visit, or to attend another event. The experience is very hands on and you are treated as a full employee, not just a graduate. Initiative and proactivity are needed to make sure you maximise the time on the scheme and the benefit you get out of it.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

I would say it mostly matched the role; sometimes there were pleasant surprises but sometimes expectations took a while to become clear.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to DHL?
The pre-joining events and the onboarding process were great, but the actually starting of the job was a bit messy and poorly co-ordinated between the NGT team and the site I was starting on. This can be counteracted by making contact with the team on-site before you start and by having a site introduction before the start date.
