Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at DHL?
It has been an eye opening insight into the worlds largest logistics company, covering roles from transport, warehouse and compliance there has been a lot of opportunities to learn and develop. Great people and friendly faces, only draw back is DHL is so big its easy to feel like a part.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Driver management, transport operations management.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?
3/5
Great opportunities, but easy to get lost in the background of the bigger sites.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?
4/5
Strong benefits and compensation for a graduate scheme.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?
5/5
The range of opportunities and stations give plenty of learning opportunities. Strong culture to helping others to progress so everyone is happy to help where possible.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?
4/5
Good internal training scheme as well as learning provider. Experience's when it comes to developing on site can depend on what site you end up on.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?
4/5
Different experiences, some have been really good and on the whole there is a great culture for support.
How is your work-life balance?
4/5
Work patterns have been adapted for me everywhere I have gone which helps massively. Still, living far from home does have natural limitations to work life balance. Important to note, the team will place a grad closer to home if possible.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?
5/5
The organisational culture within DHL is very forward thinking and inclusive. The company goes out of its way to set up events, install ambassadors and reevaluate approaches if needed.
How would you rate DHL initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?
5/5
The organisational culture within DHL is very forward thinking and inclusive. The company goes out of its way to set up events, install ambassadors and reevaluate approaches if needed.
How would you rate DHL CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?
4/5
Extensive steps are made by DHL to support CSR. The Go Green initiative has sunk billions into green efforts from fuels to solar. Only thing holding back from are areas that could have been digitised instead of paper based and inefficiencies in missed opportunities that naturally come from running such a massive fleet.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend DHL to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Its active graduate scheme that gives an insight into the complex nature of the largest logistics company in the world. The scale of DHL is hard to comprehend meaning opportunities for development and relocation can be done within the same company. This means there is a lot of members of staff who have been with the company for a long time.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?
4/5
I would of liked a bit more structure but the scale, opportunities and culture went above and beyond.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to DHL?
Keep and open mind and ask as many questions as possible, there is so much to learn and so many opportunities available, even if your first match isn't you, there is a good chance there is a different part of the company that fits you well.
