Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at DHL?
I have had an amazing experience at DHL, I feel really supported by my managers and team at Gatwick as well as the Next Generation Talent team who have been great at answering any questions about the graduate program and working at DHL!
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My main responsibilities in my role includes ensuring that Easyjet passengers are supported through the process of flying out of Gatwick Airport, from bag drop to being boarded on the aircraft.
I enjoy working with my team as I have great colleagues and the different challenges that come up working at the airport allows me to problem solve and makes everyday really interesting which I enjoy.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

My find my role really fulfilling and I feel valued in my contribution to customer service and supporting my team in providing a great service to passengers.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

My salary fairly reflect my work and the benefits at DHL are really good as well.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

My experience working at my site as well as the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge through the apprenticeship part of the graduate scheme will successfully prepare me for a future career at DHL.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

In my role at Gatwick I am learning something new everyday and expanding my knowledge and skills through training sessions and by shadowing my colleagues I am able to ask questions and develop my existing knowledge and skills as well.

How is the support you receive?

I have received a lot of support from my line manager in my role and have had training set up for my specific role as well. I've also received support and advice from former graduates at my site which has been great to see what a career post offboarding can look like.
How is your work-life balance?

I have a good life work balance I know if I had any issues I could go to my managers or the NGT team and receive support which is reassuring and really good.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

DHL has a very inclusive work culture and I have felt welcomed and part of the company from the beginning. My role is in the office, however, I am aware that remote and hybrid working is a part of the working options as well which is great for flexibility and inclusion.
How would you rate DHL initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

Diversity, equality and accessibility is DHL's strength and a core value of the company, I really enjoyed the NGT induction event where we learnt about and discussed the importance of inclusion and how it contributes to a great work environment.
How would you rate DHL CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

The Go Green and Go Teach initiatives at DHL really stood out as impressive CSR programs, which allows us to give back to local communities and to contribute towards greener operations to work towards the carbon neutral by 2050 goal.

I would recommend DHL as the opportunity to develop professionally and personally through NGT graduate program will set you up to budling a great career at DHL. This is due to the learning opportunities to develop skills and to gain new experiences through site visits.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

It match well, I knew what to expect on the graduate scheme as the events before induction prepared me for joining the DHL graduate program.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to DHL?
I would say being open to relocating as it allows you to get the most out of the graduate scheme and gives you the opportunity to meet new people and grow professionally and take all the opportunities you get through events and volunteering as well.
