Trainee Project Manager Review

Due to task availability and employee schedules, I mostly did Training. My role included joining employees on site visits and taking notes, making minutes of meetings I would shadow someone on and learning the process of a project's timeline. I also worked in groups to do separate team projects with interns from a different team- in this case Engineers - and acted as a Project Manager to them as well as on the charity event done with interns from other offices.

Yes; I acted as the project manager of my groups. The charity competition and the Engineering project, I looked into. On real projects I would be given smaller scale responsibilities of tasks needed to be part of a bigger scale documents to be sent to the client or presented.

I have learnt a lot about a professional profile from the Training's I've done. By having responsibility roles I have also learnt a lot of soft skills that contribute to that profile.

I had an ok amount; as it was a Summer Internship, most people were on a revolving Annual leave which made it difficult to find opportunities. I made sure to message my Line Manager via Teams if I had any issues and I knew that I could also contact the buddy I was paired with. Due to there being many deadlines for projects, it was difficult to be added onto projects and shadow people that way, so I would get tasks from projects and ask the team about any opportunities.

Everyone was very friendly when you would bump into them in the office; people from different teams would be happy to talk about what their job entails and give advice on the Intern projects/challenges.

I really enjoyed meeting and working with the interns from different job roles and the charity event that I was leading. As I was the only intern on my team, I reached out to others in other teams.
