Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
The main role of a Geo-Environmental Consultant is to work with clients to assess potential areas of contamination via in-depth preliminary desk studies and site sampling. Contamination can arise from a varied number of sources and can affect multiple ecosystems, groundwater aquifers and the general population.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
During my 11 week internship i have worked on multiple sites shadowing supervisors and conducting environmental sampling. I have also completed mock desk studies which are reports which would be given to clients to show potential areas of contamination and the risks involved. I have also been involved with other Arcadis interns planning and organising a charity event for Teenager Cancer Trust.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
The support and guidance i have received on my 11 week internship has been exceptional. My line manage has been outstanding, she took the time to make sure i was settled, always made time to answer my questions and support me in anyway she could. I have also made great friends within my team, especially on-site colleagues.
