overall responsibility for the smooth and safe running of the care home, ensuring high standards, compliance with regulations, positive outcomes for residents with learning disabilities. My day-to-day involvement within the service is usually leading, motivating and supervising my team. conducting daily handovers, managing rotas and staffing levels to ensure safe cover, i also oversee individualized care plans ensuring person-centered care, monitoring health needs, ensuring medical appointments and interventions are compliant, and ensuring the home meets CQC standards and other regulatory requirements.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoyed doing my Level 5 in Health and Social Care management, it gave me the opportunity to develop both my knowledge and confidence within my role. i liked being able to complete it in my own time around work and feel its helped me earn knowledge in my role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
The balance between theory and practice supported me in my role, it supported me in learning more about CQC regulatory practices and supporting theory in practice aswell as different management styles and how this has improved outcomes within my managerial role and supporting my staff team.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is well structured and organised while also giving you the support of the tutor to divide my time between my role, my leave and my course giving me the opportunity to learn on my own schedule. there were of course challenges in balancing it all as some units required deep analysis which pushed me outside my comfort zone, however, i found this aspect rewarding and it improved my resilience, time management and problem solving.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Without my employer i wouldnt have been able to pay for the course myself, it has also provided me with the skills to complete and undertake my requirements for my role. My manager was very supportive and helped me along the way and also celebrated my achievements with me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My tutor was so helpful, approachable and supportive. she was readily available should i need any help or support and was very supportive of me when i felt under pressure ensuring i could schedule the assignments around my work loads.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
being able to reflect on my own role and practice while completing this course to show how my academic learning can improve outcomes for the people i support and my staff team.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5

we have great 365 benefits packages that support us outside of work

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend VOYAGE Care to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Voyage Care is a well-established company with over 35 years of experience working with a range of support needs. The majority of the services are rated good or outstanding by CQC because the people behind the scenes at Voyage appreciate and value there teams, people we support. Voyage has supported me throughout 10 years working with them from being a part time staff member to now a registered manager of a service - showing they are supportive and people want to stay with the and learn & grow
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to VOYAGE Care?
Learning about the training available through voyage and opportunities to grow, the support for the People We Support and staff retention, have the apply to open up to a non-judgmental company who will want to see you progress
