Overall, how would you describe your experience at CGI?

Positive with an inclusive and encouraging culture

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

I have stayed in 1 role in a Business Development team building up skills in strategic bid management. I have enjoyed the fast paced nature of the work and being able to work with multiple people across the business in each bid.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

We have a well structured support system and a Buddy assigned when we join

How is your work-life balance?

My role is dependent on public procurements so am working out of hours sometimes, making it more difficult to balance work/life but I am encouraged to take the time back at other points

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

My team specifically have a Hybrid working policy and the company as a whole has 10+ networks employees can join to feel part of a community and get the support they need. There are also First Aiders (mental health and physical health) available in each location.

How would you rate CGI initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

There are multiple initiatives CGI do to support inclusivity, i would like to see something more ground breaking in the next FY

How would you rate CGI CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

CGI do multiple initiatives to support CSR both as an individual but also with Clients (tree planting, apprenticeships, Grad schemes, UK challenge, Litter picking, Job fairs etc)

Would you recommend CGI to a friend?

Yes

Why?

I think CGI are a supportive and lovely company to work for, particularly where i am in a Sales role they do not put the pressure on us as much as i have heard other IT consulting companies do. They are very people focused and create a friendly environment.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

We were not told much about roles when being recruited, you can apply for either Business or Technical and then are mapped to a role when starting (this is good & bad, some have been mapped to a completely random role they have no interest in and others have loved their role they have been mapped to)

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to CGI?

For actual recruitment - CGI Values are very important at every career stage, you are likely to be asked questions based on or around each of the values - if you can find someone from CGI (on LinkedIn or personally) to speak to before hand, I would highly recommend!
In the role & onboarding - put yourself out there! If you are in an office, speak to people often - it will open a lot of opportunities for you along the way, CGI has a wide range of offices in and out of the UK and your network will be crucial if you want to move around the business.
