Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at CGI?

My experience at CGI has been very positive. I've felt welcomed by my colleagues and have had the opportunity to work on meaningful pieces of work while continuing to learn. The collaborative culture has made it easy to ask questions and develop my understanding, and I've enjoyed gaining exposure to different areas of the business, including my work on the SKI project. I feel I've built a strong foundation and I'm looking forward to continuing to develop my technical skills and broadening my experience.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

My current role involves supporting currency-related activities within GCC and contributing to project work, including the SKI project. This includes analysing information, producing accurate outputs, collaborating with colleagues, and supporting project delivery where required.
The part I enjoy most is solving problems, learning new technical concepts, and understanding how the work I do contributes to the wider business. I particularly enjoy working with different people across the team and having opportunities to learn new systems and processes.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

5/5
I feel my contributions are recognised and valued by the team. I've been trusted with meaningful work and encouraged to ask questions and contribute ideas. My colleagues have been supportive and willing to share their knowledge, which has helped me build confidence and feel like part of the team.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

4/5
Overall, I believe my compensation package is fair for my current role as an Early Careers member. I particularly value the flexible working arrangements, annual leave, pension contributions, employee share ownership opportunities, and the investment CGI makes in learning and development.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

4/5
I feel the role is providing a strong foundation for my future career. I've had opportunities to work on real projects, collaborate with experienced colleagues, and develop both technical and professional skills. I've also had chances to present ot the client. Going forward, I'd like to continue building my technical capability,.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

4/5
I've been able to develop through a combination of formal training and practical experience. My day-to-day work has helped me build confidence, while training resources such as CGI Academia provide opportunities to continue learning. I'd like to continue expanding my technical skills, particularly around applications, automation, AI, and data, alongside developing stronger communication and presentation skills.

Experience & Company Culture

How is the support you receive?

5/5
I have received excellent support since joining CGI. My line manager and colleagues have been approachable, patient, and always willing to answer questions or explain new concepts. I've felt encouraged to learn and develop at my own pace while still being trusted with meaningful work. The onboarding process and regular check-ins have helped me settle into the business and understand my role. As I continue to develop, I'd welcome additional opportunities to shadow different teams and technical specialists to broaden my knowledge.

How is your work-life balance?

4/5
My work-life balance has been very good. The flexibility offered has allowed me to manage my workload effectively while maintaining a healthy balance outside of work. The team is supportive and understands the importance of wellbeing, which creates a positive working environment.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

5/5
CGI has a welcoming, collaborative, and inclusive culture. From my first day I felt comfortable asking questions and seeking support, and colleagues have always been willing to share their knowledge. The hybrid working model works well and still provides opportunities to build relationships with the team. The CGI values are reflected in how people work together and support one another.

How would you rate CGI initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

5/5
CGI demonstrates a strong commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. Although I haven't yet participated in every initiative available, I've seen regular communications, awareness campaigns, and employee networks that promote an inclusive environment where everyone is encouraged to contribute and feel valued.

How would you rate CGI CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives?

4/5
From what I've seen so far, CGI places genuine importance on giving back to the community and supporting environmental and social initiatives. I appreciate the opportunities available through programmes such as CGI for Good and the volunteering and STEM activities. As I'm still relatively new, I'd like to become more involved in these initiatives over the coming year.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend CGI to a friend?

Yes

Why?

I would recommend CGI because of the supportive culture, the opportunities for continuous learning, and the variety of career paths available. Since joining, I've been trusted with meaningful work while receiving support from colleagues and managers whenever I've needed it. CGI encourages professional development and provides opportunities to build both technical and professional skills, making it a great place to start and develop a career.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

3/5
The role has matched the expectations set during the recruitment process. I expected to be challenged while learning, and that has been my experience. I've had opportunities to work on real projects, including the SKI project, while developing my technical knowledge and gaining a better understanding of CGI's ways of working. The role has also introduced me to areas of the business I wasn't previously familiar with but was not as technical and first thought.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to CGI?

Be yourself throughout the recruitment process and don't be afraid to demonstrate your willingness to learn. Research CGI's values and the industries it works in, as this will help during interviews. Once you join, make the most of opportunities to ask questions, build relationships across your team, and take advantage of the learning resources available through CGI Academia and experienced colleagues.
