Product Executive Review

For the past year I have been in a product role responsible for looking after the Balearics, Mexico and Central & Northern Europe. My day to day role involved launching new destinations/accommodations, H&S checks, errata checks and availability checks. As well as insiders/hotel recommendations and blog suggestions too.

I think I was given a good amount of responsibility during my Placement - for example I had the ability to switch on and off accommodations without having to ask for permission. I slightly wish I was more involved in decision making with senior members of staff to be more informed of what is going on.

I've learnt better team building skills and communication throughout the year. I've also built upon Excel skills slowly as the year has progressed.

I received a lot of support during my placement from my team and manager, this includes training on specific skills, areas of the job and general wellbeing support also. My manager was always there to help and call if I needed. My team provided process slides to help me understand them quicker.

I think the company culture has been okay. It has been difficult for many employees going through the current transformation with redundancies and uncertainty but I think there is a positive environment in the office. I enjoy going into the office but felt there was a lack of social opportunities within the team.

Overall, I really enjoyed my Placement and it was an amazing opportunity at TUI. There were so many opportunities to the role which were great and it was a very supportive atmosphere. My team were great and really supported me personally and professionally. The only downfall I can think of is the lack of social opportunities as it is a hybrid role so my team only came in once every 2 weeks.
