Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Most of the year I was a Project Coordinator assisting the Project Manager with a huge project at our site campus. Lots of project admin tasks: attending internal and external meetings, taking and sharing minutes with the team, updating action logs and trackers, creating and updating presentation packs, sending weekly project status reports to customers, creating feedback forms and collecting data. Also took ownership of a segment of the project which involved office renovation and staff relocation.
Also got involved in warehouse operations by getting trained up in processes and shadowing line managers.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was involved from the beginning, but was given more responsibility as time went on.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I’ve learnt project management skills like effectively tracking progress, communicating with teams effectively and developed verbal and written presentation skills.
My confidence has also improved massively this year because of the amount of networking across the business I’ve done.
I’ve also learned how to process and monitor orders.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Lots of 1-to-1 meetings with line manager.
Lots of networking within the business unit and across.
Higher ups are really involved with us which is really nice.
People in the business are really nice people.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Super super friendly and welcoming. It’s such a good environment to develop as a person. Everyone in the business is just super happy to help you with anything and it’s just good vibes.
