Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
My role is a software engineer. The company operates on project based work. I work on code fixes for support tickets, assisting with documentation and helping other teams on the project.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was responsible for my own work but nothing else. No project or company responsibility.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
100% learnt new skills. Good training program allowed me to obtain multiple certifications. Day-to-day activities allowed me to learn new skills to do with teamwork and technical ones to do with technologies I worked with.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Very friendly. Sporty. There's a sports and social club which encourages both of these things. No personal cubicles/desks its all hot-desks. Lots of office based events as well.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I thought this was an incredible experience as a placement. There's opportunity to develop your career and skills throughout as well as opportunity to volunteer and give back to the community.

Yes
What advice would you give to others applying to CGI
This is good for a placement year. Like all placement years, the job is what you make it but they provide you so many opportunities to explore different skills and social events that you should 100% get involved in. However, I would not recommend coming back as a graduate.
