Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
We attended talks about TW's practice areas, sectors and pro bono initiatives. I also got the opportunity to complete tasks such as research, drafting emails and letters to clients and reviewing documents. Furthermore, there were opportunities to reach out to people in different teams to learn more about their work.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was really interesting - we got to attend talks learning about Taylor Wessing's sector focus and how this brings unique advantages to the firm and the business services talk, which highlighted the clients that TW gets and strategies to continue attracting clients to the firm. Speaking to different trainees and associates across the firm also highlighted the differences in work between different practice areas.

Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I developed drafting skills as I learnt how best to communicate with different clients and think about their perspective. I also developed teamwork skills and my commercial awareness through the group presentation by learning more about deal structures and the advantages of TW's sector focus and practice areas.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Everyone was really nice and very willing to explain the background of the matter, the client involved as well as their past experiences. Everyone was also very friendly and passionate about their work so I felt very welcomed from the first day.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the insight - I learnt a lot in the span of two weeks and everyone was willing to let me try a wide range of tasks despite my limited time, even people that were not my supervisor or trainee buddy, so I got decent exposure to what the practice areas did.
