Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The scheme involved sitting in a department of my choice and getting involved in real work set by a supervisor. We also got talks from different departments of the firm and had the opportunity to set up chats with people in departments we were also interested in.
We had an online assessment and a group presentation to assess us for the training contract, as well as the work in our departments.

What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was great to gain an understanding of the different teams, we could also choose what departments to gain a further understanding of their work and culture.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
I chose to sit in an area of the firm that I had never had experience of before, so I gained a lot of understanding of the work of that department. I developed my skills in contract drafting and reviewing, and understanding the complexities of different matters.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The general atmosphere is really friendly. The whole office is open plan with hotdesking, so it is very easy to talk to new people.
