Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role includes assisting with client communication and preparing materials for client meetings. I am a member of the Debt Team and part of the support team for the iDealTrade platform. My responsibilities include maintaining and updating credit profiles and debt portfolios. Alongside work, I am studying towards the CIPFA Professional Accountancy Qualification.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am enjoying the apprenticeship greatly. Finance and accounting is a field I have always be interested in, and in my work I have been given responsibilities which have allowed me to gain new skills. I am also enjoying my CIPFA qualification as I am able to study with my classmates, and learn about topics which interest me.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

My knowledge and understanding of the finance sector and accounting has developed greatly throughout the course of the apprenticeship. I am more confident in using financial terminology and am now able to write up and communicate economic updates to clients. Moreover, my skills in excel and Bloomberg have developed as I use the platforms constantly in my day to day work.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very organised. I have set days which I go to college to study, and set days which I am at work. I also have regular review meetings with my CIPFA coach, who provides feedback and helps to monitor my progress.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a lot of support from my employer. My manager and my colleagues have been great in making sure I am getting training at work and also helping out whenever I have questions.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
CIPFA provide lots of online support for exams alongside the face-to-face lessons that I attend. They also host regular review meetings, where my coach provides me with feedback and makes sure I am on track for my apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

In my qualification so far, I have studied a variety of modules which I can apply at work. For example, I have studied financial accounting, which has taught me lots of key accounting and financial terminology, which I am able to use when communicating financial information at work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

At work, there have been lots of social and networking events which I have had the opportunity to attend, including activities such as darts and attending a cricket match. I have also attended workshops with my company, which has allowed me to build relationships with clients.

Arlingclose has been very supportive and my colleagues have been incredibly helpful and friendly. I have been able to get involved with lots of different work and have been given responsibility, which has allowed me to learn lots of new skills.
