Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a Business Administration apprentice at GMCA, I provided project and administrative support within the housing, business and delivery functions in the Investment Team. My day-to-day duties included updatign project timelines on Microsoft Project, minuting programme meetings, raising and processing invoices, managing MI trackers, updating the Business Funds tracker, distributing Quarterly Monitoring Reports to borrowers of GMCA's Business Fund and arranging the excution of legal documents.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoyed my interactions with my skills coach and representatives of my training provider. I acquired academic knowledge as well as practical knowledge and helped me learn more about my role and my organisation. I also enjoyed the extra training sessions which helped me develop key skills to perofrm my role to the highest level.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have strengthened my caommunication skills as I was regularly liasing with internal and external stakeholders including partner organisations, councils and local businesses. I became highly proficient with various softwares and Microsoft by frequently updating trackers, project timelines and data spreadsheets. I became very time efficient and used me previous experience to provide high qualtiy support.; working at pace and meeting deadlines.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme was very structured from a training provider point of view as I had monthly 1-2-1 with my tutor and seminar which I completed case studies for. My skills coach managed my development and highlighted strength and aims for development over the next months and I very much appreciated his commitment to my development.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My line manager attended all the mandatory meetings with my tutor and skills coach. I was very grateful for the support of other colleagues when reviewing my apprenticeship work. I didn't receive much correspondence with any anybody else in the organisation but I was very grateful for the congratulations on my final garde and report of my success from our Talent & Resourcing Team.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I received excellent support from my training provide when working towards my qualifications. Each of my seminars and 1-2-1s with my skills coach and tutor were very beneficial and I attending extra events such as training sessions and an Alumni Event in Manchester when I met the Head of JGA Group and other alumnis and apprentices. Throughout my apprenticeship process my tutor provided me with very useful resources to help me achieve the best grade possible.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel that my qualification through my training provider has significantly enhanced my ability to perform better in my role. The comprehensive curriculum covered all the essential aspects of my job, from theoretical knowledge to practical skills. The hands-on training sessions were particularly beneficial, allowing me to apply what I learned in real-world scenarios. Overall, the qualification has given me greater confidence and competence in my role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are extra-curricular activites available at work including several boards and groups. I have joined the sports & welfare society and will be looking through any correspondence to join other events and activities.
